SO, WHAT EXACTLY IS AFFILIATE MARKETING?
You’ve probably seen posts saying:
“Click the link.”
“Check this out.”
“Link in bio.” 👀
But did you know that the person sharing that link can potentially earn a commission if you buy something through it?
That’s called affiliate marketing.
Here’s the simple version:
BRAND → AFFILIATE PLATFORM → CREATOR → CUSTOMER
A company wants more people to buy its products or use its service. Instead of paying someone simply to post an advertisement, the company can offer a commission for successful referrals.
For example:
🛒 You see a product recommended by a creator.
🔗 You click their affiliate link.
💳 You purchase the product.
📊 The sale is tracked.
✅ The brand validates the transaction.
💰 The creator receives a commission.
The creator doesn’t necessarily get paid just because you clicked. In many affiliate programs, the commission only happens when a specific action—usually a qualified purchase or sign-up—is completed and approved.
And what is Involve Asia?
Involve Asia is one platform that connects brands with publishers and creators for this type of performance marketing.
It allows publishers to find affiliate campaigns, generate tracking links, and earn commissions from qualifying actions.
And here’s something important:
Affiliate marketing isn’t the same as selling your own product.
You’re essentially saying:
“I’ve found this product/service. Here’s my link if you want to check it out.”
If someone buys through your link and the transaction qualifies, you may earn a commission—usually without the buyer paying extra because of your affiliate link.
BUT… THERE’S A CATCH. 👀
Not every click = money.
Not every order = commission.
Orders can be cancelled, returned, rejected, or otherwise fail the advertiser’s requirements.
Different campaigns also have different commission rates and rules.
So when you see:
“Earn up to 10% commission!”
That doesn’t mean every product automatically gives you 10%.
You have to check the specific campaign’s terms.
Why are we talking about this?
Because affiliate marketing is becoming another way for creators, bloggers, publishers, and community pages to monetize the audience they’ve built.
And we think it’s worth understanding—especially before clicking those mysterious “LINK BELOW 👇” posts. 😂
At Bogophoria, if we eventually share affiliate links, we’ll tell you that they’re affiliate links.
Because earning from content is fine.
Pretending you’re recommending something purely out of love when you’re actually getting paid? That’s where transparency matters. 💙
Would you ever use affiliate links as a creator? Or do you already use them? 👀👇
